Payroll processor ADP reported private employers added 297,000 jobs last month. The jump in payrolls came in far above the 100,000 rise economists expected. That could be a good sign for the Labor Department’s monthly jobs report due out Friday.
ADP said service-related jobs rose by 270,000 in December, the eleventh month in a row. Goods-producing jobs rose 23,000, the second consecutive monthly gain, ADP said.
